About Randy Williams, M.A.

Randy holds a M.A. in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from Azusa Pacific University, and is in private practice at Discovery Counseling Associates in Bellingham, Washington. Randy helped start Discovery in 1990. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Washington.
Randy has worked in the mental health field since 1985. His variety of experience includes: working with Fremont Youth and Family Services in Fremont, CA with adolescents and families referred for therapy by the court system and social services; working in church settings in Fremont and Walnut Creek, CA; and, working in the drug and alcohol field in at least two different settings, primarily with families afflicted by D & A problems. He enjoys working with individuals, couples and families, in both short- and long-term cognitive and behavioral therapy. Areas of specialty include marital/relational conflict and infidelity, mood disorders, anxiety disorders (including Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorders), and faith and spirituality issues.
Randy has led church-based marriage enrichment weekends and seminars both in the US and in Canada. He also developed and co-taught a lay care giving/counseling program in Whatcom and Skagit counties for a number of years. He has served with Red Cross as mental health services liaison, and also as a support officer for the Bellingham Fire Department. Randy has also served with the Whatcom/Skagit Industrial Critical Incident Stress Management team.
Randy is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Randy is married and has two teenagers. He enjoys camping, reading fiction, gardening, golfing, and fly fishing. |
